Chain Drugstores: Case Studies
The National Trust for Historic Preservation is pleased to see investments by chain drugstores in urban downtowns and neighborhoods in situations where they are welcomed by the community and do not threaten a town's character or historic integrity. The following are case studies featuring stories about chain drugstores that adapted to existing buildings, modified their design to encompass a town's character, or through community efforts, were prevented from demolishing historic properties.
