This Place Matters
The National Trust exists because place matters and we are here to help people protect, enhance, and enjoy the places that matter to them. From a family home or a neighborhood school, to your local hangout or movie theatre -- wherever you live and whoever you are, place matters.
Help us spread the word about the National Trust for Historic Preservation and our mission to save places by participating in our recently upgraded This Place Matters campaign. By showcasing the diverse places that matter to all of us, we can change the way people think about heritage and make a stronger case for preserving it.
What is it? This Place Matters is a photo-sharing campaign in which we ask people to take and post photos of themselves in whatever places matter to them. By sharing these photos, we can spread the word and get even more people involved in the preservation movement.

To increase our impact, we're moving the campain to Flickr, a photo sharing website that allows people to upload their own and browse millions of other people's public pictures. Signing up is easy, click here to get a Yahoo! ID which will allow you to create a Flickr account. It's easy and free. If you already have a Yahoo! ID, log in here and follow the steps to create a Flickr account. If you're already into Flickr, then you're ahead of the game!
Once you have an account, you can upload all your photos from family, friends, and vacation. First, download our sign, then when you upload a This Place Matters photo, join our This Place Matters photo group and click "add a photo" -- then it will get pulled in to our slideshow!
You can also check out the photos that have already been uploaded here before you commit, but we need your help in spreading the word because the more people we can get involved, the more momentum we have in saving the places that matter to all of us.
